Simple Cashew Gravy

There are many ways to make cashew gravy, this is just one, based off of a recipe in Nancy Crosby’s cookbook, 7 Secrets, but different.


  • 2/3 cup cashews
  • 1  1/3 cup water
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

To Make:

  1. In a blender, blend together cashews and water until smooth.
  2. Pour into a small or medium sauce pan, mix in onion powder and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently. Gravy should thicken as it cooks. If it is not thickening, you may want to continue to cook it for a couple more minutes.
